Does this guy have any ethics or credibility? He takes out special sweet deal loans for himself them puts himself in charge of writing his own Financial Regulations bill... which does little more than give even more power to the Federal Reserve.
He lives on his own egotistical island.
Dodd is a really bad seed and not good for the Democratic Party.
As the President of Legal Abuse Must End, Inc., I will say my opinions of both Chris and Joe L. of Connecticut are not in favor of them. Joe L. was young in the Senate back in the mid 1980's. He attended public forums which I set up regarding the lack of ethics among many connecticut lawyers. He made promises to me at these public forums and failed to keep any of them. The same thing happened at another public connecticut forum where I attended. Connecticut Supreme Court Justice, T. Clark Hull, went on the record and said he "Would take Susan L's advice." This after I outlined the need for upgrades in lawyer ethics rules and I submitted a report explaining what changes would be helpful. Very little changes were made. My work in misconduct and lawyer ethics problems often made the front page of many Connecticut newspapers. Including but not limited to the Connecticut Law Tribune. The public cared and were behind my efforts a hundred percent. The Connecticut goverment lacked in their concern. Bottom line, Dodd is a lawyer who governs himself. I have said this on the record in public for years. When it comes to lawyers, "balance" of power is missing. Thank you for allowing me to comment MikeNV
Mike,
This is as bad as Northwestern Univ. having ex-governor Blago speak on political ethics.
Government can't be trusted. Our founders knew that and that's why the constitution was designed to LIMIT government. Unfortunately government continues to overstep its charter and PROVE the founders right! Dodd should resign!
"First, kill all the lawyers" - Shakespeare
400 years later and still just as wise
Madame X, I love Shakespeare. But I wouldn't kill all the lawyers. Yes, changes need to be made and I understand your kidding. However, we still need goverment to enforce fair and balanced laws of the people.
Susan - there is no other profession in which a total absence of personal responsibility is inherent. That alone is the core of most of our problems.
I was only sorta kidding
People like to hate on lawyers but like doctors and teachers they are essential.
Doctors and teachers aren't usually, and consistently, worthy of our hate.
No matter how essential.
"Doctors and teachers aren't usually, and consistently, worthy of our hate."
Just like lawyers, some them are but most of them are not.
Sab Oh..hate is a big word. I don't hate lawyers, I dislike the ones who violate their own laws of ethics and they engage in misconduct. In one of my hubs, I talk about knowing some very good lawyers. It's getting much harder to find them however. Thanks for your thoughts Sab Oh.
"I don't hate lawyers, I dislike the ones who violate their own laws of ethics and they engage in misconduct. "
Well, wouldn't that hold for people in any profession?
Sab Oh, "dislike the ones who violate their own laws of ethics and engage in misconduct." That would hold for any profession. But again, the word is dislike not hate. Right now I'm on topic with ethics dealing with Dodd and the like, they are lawyers first. Again, thanks Sab Oh for your interesting thoughts and comments.

Do you agree with Lynn Cheney and Bill Kristol's criticism of 7 Justice Department lawyers who provided legal representation to accused terrorists, calling them "The Al Qaeda Seven"? Here's a link to the controversial video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIxg7Lml … r_embedded

I have little to say about Biden's speech to the Nation, other than it was a typical political speech. Filled to the brim with half-truths, and fluffy BS plans that will not make it to see the light of day. . He made an effort to point out what he felt were accomplishments that he seems to feel he...
