   Touch DNA, the capability to bring up fingerprints on dead victims bodies.
   
   I think this new technology is astounding.  However..........
   
   When people are found dead, how do they know who was the last one to touch was?  What if you stumble upon someone barely breathing who have been strangled and dies as soon as you touch them to help.  What then?
   
   I only ask these questions, because it seems to me that inventors of this type of technology do not think of all the possibilities.
   
   I'm curious of what impact this type of technology has on courts and the justice system.

   Good questions -
   
   When people are found dead, how do they know who was the last one to touch was? 
   
   Probably they don't know really,who was the last - and they would have to do some investigation, but at least this narrows down the possibilities and helps them find the murderer.
   
   
   What if you stumble upon someone barely breathing who have been strangled and dies as soon as you touch them to help.
   
     What then?
   
   I assume you would stay with the body until the police come - they would ask whether and where you touched the body.  Then they take a sample of your DNA to compare it with the prints -  still there would be investigation. . . DNA samples never are used as the sole evidence - there has to be other corroborating evidence or witnesses etc.

   All very scary possibilities.  Somebody always has to go down.  Especially in a murder case. 
   
   I'm not sure what I'd do.  I think I honestly would pause.

   Perhaps they can do some version of Carbon dating on the prints themselves-like they do with bones and such?
