I applied for a position and was just notified it is a group interview. Everyone who applied will be there You must participate to even be considered.
I dislike interviews to start and a group setting. I thinking I am not going on this interview.
I am a shy person till I get to know you so I don't think this is for me.
It is not a big corporate position just a simple teller position in a bank. Don't get it oh well happy job hunting to me
I would go, but I would refuse to answer any personal questions in front of the group.
I think you should give it a go. It might not be as bad as you think, and even if you don't get the job, at least you will have had the experience. I know where you're coming from, as I wouldn't really like it either, but everyone will be in the same boat and it will boost your confidence for any future occasions. Like someone else said, it's probably just to see how you relate to other people. Go for it!
Its just one form of interviewing. Before you discount it, why not do a little research on interviewing techniques on the net. Once you know what its all about and the purpose/motive of this particular type of interview, you will be better prepared. Trust me, everyone who is thinking of attending this will be very nervous. If you've done your research, you will be head and shoulders above the rest. Then you can decide if you want the job or not. Good luck!
if the interview turns out include one large mud pit, it probably isn't the type of job you want
I'm dating myself
(which, ironically enough, I also did in the 80s)
It's to see if you as a Teller, can handle people in general. I've heard of some Corps even sitting "plants" in with the candidates to be antagonists to see if they can upset you easily. With todays economy, and the way people feel about banks in general, it could be what they're trying.
Thanks everyone for your advice I will let you know what I decide to do. Thanks again
I had a group interview once, and I walked out. Mostly because when they set up the interview they didn't tell me it would be with a group and then when I got there I found out it was for a telemarketing position - not the clerical position advertised. I'm not a salesperson!!
Good luck to you, though. Your interview might be different.

Has anyone ever heard of Odesk?I found it online as a means of getting income for freelance work. I have seen a few hubs on it, but I want to hear personal experiences from anybody who has tried the site and has actually been successful. I don't want to waste my time with it if I don't know anyone...

I have a tendency to do a lot of interviews for my articles, whether it's for book reviews, music reviews, celebrity interviews, etc. I haven't found many hubs that utilize interviews....in fact, I've only found one that does, but maybe I'm not digging deep enough or using the right search...

I'm pondering this question, as I've had several interviews lately and worked my way through the whole process. When we got to the end, I asked "how much?" Only to find out it's not enough money. I know times are hard, but crap....I just don't want to go to work somewhere if...
