Black Americana Fairings

While most German Fairings created between 1890 and 1910 were pigs and bears, black americana was also featured. Black Americana Fairings appear to be the most rare and are highly collectible next to the buildings. I've had the most success searching on ebay for Black Americana with Pigs, Antique Pink Pigs and Fairing Pigs.

Two of the fairings are shown in the book "This little Piggy" and is still available through Amazon.com. Although the pricing is from 1992 it is still a very good resource.

This chef is the matching gentleman with his gold gilded knife and piggy in a basket. 3 1/2" x 5". This one is particularly rare - I've only seen 2, one of which I purchased for $324. Featured in "This little Piggy" its '92 price was $160.
