Pigs with Pots, Pin Dishes, Candlesticks, Strikers and Vases

There are a lot of variations of Souvenir Fairings with vessels. Made between the 1890's and 1910 they came with pots, pin dishes, match strikers and candlesticks to name a few. I suppose these items were for more practical uses around the home if indeed that's how you wanted to use the item. I think mostly they were just used to be appreciated in the curio cabinet. I've included 1992 pricing from a booklet that is available at Amazon.com called "This little Piggy" and is still available for purchase.

Pigs by a trough. I've seen a couple of variations of this. Mine is more of a bisque while others appear to be more porcelain. Featured in "This little Piggy". Its 1992 value was $120. 3 3/4" x 3". Paid $80 Common

Pig in a teacup. Featured in "This little Piggy" its 1992 value was $80. There is a more rare bear featured in the teacup with a '92 value of $40 but I would imagine this would bring a higher price. 3" x 2 3/4". Paid $80 Common

3 pigs with a cup and spoon. This is considered to be a mustard cup. The inscription Niagra Falls NY was added in an American Factory. It's the only one I've seen to date on ebay. 4" x 3". Paid $61 Rare

It's hard to say if this is an ashtray or a match holder. The adult pig reads "Don't scratch my back" and the baby's reads "Scratch mine". You can see the ridges where you are able to strike the match. $5 1/2" x 2 1/2". Paid 47. Rare

Occasionally pigs are featured with shamrocks. They may be on the pin dish itself or sometimes in the wheels of cars. This item just sold on ebay for $62. Rare.

This lovely mustard pot comes with a crochet rouge on the front, a lid and a tiny spoon that you could use to dip out your mustard. Flanked by two pigs it's a really nice collectible. 4" x 3". Paid $61. Rare.
