Looting in Clash of Clans

Here is my tutorial / Strategy guide on the best looting methods in Clash of Clans (aka COC) to consistently be able to loot big and fast. This is specifically written for those who want to get lots of Gold & Elixir Fast, not for trophy ascending, that would be the subject of a different tutorial.

I will also be releasing a more specific Dark Elixir Looting tutorial later on.

So let's see what YOU need to do in order to get big massive loots consistently in Clash of Clans, isn't that what most of us want?

Town Hall

1) Town Hall Level

First of all you need to consider your Town Hall Level. You need to understand that the lower the Town Hall level you have the bigger the loot is. What that means is that looting the same level Town Halls will get you an even loot, looting lower level will get you less and looting higher will get you more.

I'm not gonna go into all the % and stuff but it dramatically changes once you upgrade to Town Hall Level 8. You will lose like 50% of the loot for lower Town Halls than yours and its going to be very difficult at first to loot. So what does that mean for you?

It means that you want to stick with a low level town halls for as long as you possibly can (if your goal is to stack up loot fast!) until you have almost no choice but to upgrade your Town Hall. That will guarantee you the highest % of loot possible.

COC Trophy Leagues

2) Trophy League

For this looting strategy you will need to remain in a relatively low trophy league (not too low though) so that your looting is not too hard but where you can find high loots fast. For example on Town Hall level 7-8 you want to remain in the Silver League 1-2-3 in order to be comfortable looting easily and fast.

Stay a but lower if your Town Hall is lower level and Gold League if your Town Hall is 9.

3) Attack Strategy

Ok so now here comes the actual attack strategy. I am going to share with you my MOST successful strategy but it doesn't mean IT'S THE ONLY ONE!

Basically when you're looking for a looting attack strategy there are a few things that you want to look for:

a) It must be relatively fast troops training, somewhere around 15-25 minutes between attacks, (without using any gems to boost your speed).

b) Your strategy cannot rely on the use of multiple spells to succeed as they take like 30 minutes to produce per spell. You want a good strategy that will work using ONLY your troops. Your spells are only a bonus i.e. you only usethem in desperate need or for mega loot bases.

c) The total cost of your troops per attacks must not be extremely high, it should be anywhere around 40-90k per attack. For example using a crazy dragon raid would cost you over 250k and take hours to make. Even though its very powerful it's not time efficient and you'll end up making much less loot per hour of play.

My favorite, most effective loot strategy is as follow. This is with a Town Hall Level 8 and above, but you can adjust it for lower Town Halls as well:

1) 10 to 20 Maxed-Out Archers

2) 15-20 Maxed-Out Giants

3) 1 Maxed-Out Healer

4) 5-10 Maxed-Out Mages

5) 10-15 Minions (optional, mostly for faster speed of training of army & clean ups)

6) Maxed-Out Healing Spells Only, no rage spells (for emergency use only)

You also want to max out your army camps so that you can have the most possible amount of guys, for Town Hall Level 7-8 that would be 200 troops total.

With the above choice of army, the good thing about it is that I will often be able to raid villages without using my full army, maybe 60-75% so that the time until my next raid is as little as possible.

Don't pick bases that are way above your strength, look for easy bases with 300k to 700k combined resources minimum to raid. Look for villages with inactive players, evidenced by the no league assignment on the top left.

Those villages are always the easiest as the mines & elixir pumps will be filled with resources easy to loot. Even if it takes you 5 minutes to find one by repeatedly hitting "Next".

What you do is you first kill the Hero if there is one with your archers & minions and then empty any Clan Castles as well as your very first actions. Your giants won't fight back if enemy troops come out of their castles.

Once this is done you can deploy your giants near the closest, easiest Air Defense to take out and let them destroy it on their own BEFORE getting your healer out on the battlefield. Deploy your giants smartly ALL AT ONCE ON THE SAME SPOT(not slowly or separately) in a way that they can take out 1 or 2 air defense on their own and only then will you get the healer out. Deploying them at the same time one the same spot will also concentrate their hits to take down walls. They are not very strong which is why you need 15-20 of them to be effective. It also makes your healing spells very effective when you use it on a big group of giants. Only use the healing spells when necessary. Get a few mages out at that point as well.

It's ok even if there 1 or 2 air defense further down the village as long as you have some room to do most of your damage & collect the loot now. Let your giants clear some space and then deploy the remaining mages and archers and minions.

For the minions you can use them to take out singled out canons or mortars or just for clean out or as loot collecting since they are relatively quick by bypassing walls. BUT DON'T DEPLOY THEM ON THE SAME SPOT, a single air bomb can take out about 5-8 minions at once.

You can also replace the minions with more mages or even barbarians if you don't want to spend that many elixirs. This guide is mostly aimed toward gold & elixir collection.

Conclusion

So the ending note of this looting guide is that the main point is that you want to be able to have a powerful, fast spawning army that's relatively cheap to be able to hit on base which are not way above your level which are loaded with resources. Especially those with inactive players (evidenced by the fact that they have no trophy league assigned to them).

With that you should be able to easily keep up with your upgrades and rapidly ascend the leagues afterwards. Happy Looting!
