What is one toy you wanted so badly when you were a kid?
Most of us had that moment when we were younger. We saw a commercial or walked by a toy store and suddenly there it was: the toy we had to have but couldn't get. What "useless piece of plastic" as coined by Dana Carvey had you hypnotized?
Well, to be honest, I'd still like to have one of these: the X-Wings from the 1970s. One of our neighbors had one, and I so wanted it! I still love Star Wars.
Here's the link to the commercial for a blast from the past.

Oh, so true! I was so into those fighters. I had a Falcon but never got the Wing. Still one of the most iconic planes in movie history.
The toy I really wanted as a kid was this big bubble machine my neighbor had. It was actually quite cool, it formed continuous bubbles in various shapes. I have got something similar for my kids now, but frankly I enjoy it more than them :p
So you got to live the dream even if it was a little later than expected.
I agree with you Toytasting. When I was little I wanted a Barbie doll so bad, but my parents can’t afford to buy expensive toys or they didn’t have budget for toys. My parents are the typical example of below average or belong to poor group of famili
Stretch-Arm Strong. The adverts made him look so cool, but he broke in about six weeks and leaked this goo from his shoulder. I loved seeing his capabilities and his adventures in the adverts, but playing with him alone was boring - it required two people to pull his arms and legs to get the full effect of his stretchiness. Still, a great toy with a lot of novelty, I've learnt that I shouldn't trust the adverts as much as I used to.
Other than that, PS1 games. I'm a collector and a lot of the games I wanted as a kid I can now afford - Tombi!, Croc 2, Ridge Racer, Jinx, Looney Toons Racing, etc.
I owned one as well. He was fun while he lasted. Those ad campaigns were brilliant. I too collect games.
Mine was power wheels; those little self propelled jeeps that kids tore around in. I never got one, because they were too expensive for my parents, but I had more than a few daydreams about driving around my back yard in one. I did eventually drive one at a craig's cruisers, but by that time I was a little bit too old and the entire experience was unpleasant. Though, I do still remember the slogan: "Pow-pow-power wheels, now you're drivin for real!"
Dear god those things were so cool back in the day. I managed to get the Corvette type. When I got older I wondered what might happen if I got it upgraded with some extra speed.

I wanted to post this under questions, but I wrote too much. The topic may sound like a stupid question, but hear me out. I want to e-publish my first book and I am using my own pictures. Some of the pictures are of common children's toys. I want to know if that will break any copyright laws or...
