What were you really into when you were a kid?
I loved r n b and still do! As young as 4 years of age, I dreamt of being an African American singer in a back up band. Still till this day I don't know why. My voice is for the shower only! But I wanted to sing and dance.
We didn't know any Americans as neighbours or as friends growing up. Instead we were surrounded by Northern Europeans. What about you?
I was way into comic book collecting when I was a kid in the 1980s - I got into it when I was around 10 years old and by the time I "retired" in my early twenties and sold the bulk of my collection, I had almost 5,000 comics.
Early, early years it was erector sets, playing cowboys, war heroes, and then Cub Scouts later.
Later . . . Was many dimensions of Scouting with a big focus on outdoors; camping, canoeing, hiking, survival, nature, and etc. School wise it was mechanical drawing and architecture.
Later it was still scouting and architecture, but motorcycles, engines, and mechanic stuff was growing.
Cycling. Oh, I've loved my bike. I spent hours a day biking, enjoying the ride, the wind, scenery, fooling around. Those were happy days. Don't know why at some point I give it up. Just to hit the road again years years after and broke my collarbone ))
Harry Potter. I know, plenty of kids read and loved the books. But from the time I discovered them (around 8) to my early teens (when my love for the books became more casual) I lived and breathed Harry Potter. I collected the toys and cards, my mom stenciled the various spells on my bedroom walls, I of course read the books over and over again, and I constantly daydreamed about it. I also discovered 'fandom' through Harry Potter, joining in on online discussions and reading fanfiction. For many years it was a common subject (whether chatting or playing) among friends and cousins of mine when we got together.
Prior to that (and still continuing through that time and beyond), I was obsessed with reading in general. I was never big on the "classics", but I constantly had my nose in a novel anyway. I loved anything spooky or suspenseful, but all sorts of genres lined my bedroom bookshelves!
I loved Harry Potter, too.
Books are wonderful! Stories about life and people are beautiful. Not to forget the mysterious, magical or inspirational:)
I spent my childhood on a skatepark. I was fond of rollerskating and wasted all my free time on learning how to grind, master different ramps and do cool stuff like that. I still have the skills (after about 7 years) but not the time and the desire to do it ^^
Well, but my love to computer games will last forever I think

Why does losing someone you love to death have to be so painful?I understand its written in the Bible; but why does it have to hurt so much? How do you cope with the pain? Why does it take longer for some of us to overcome, while others continue to move on like nothing happened? The reason I ask is...
