Heh, it's a pretty rainy day where I am right now. I actually quite enjoy riany weather! I like to sit inside, all dry and comfy, listening to the water droplets hitting the ground and the wind howling in the trees... And I even like being outside in the rain under the right conditions. Some of my favourite things to do on a day like this are:
- Make myself a nice hot cup of tea or hot chocolate, pull out a soft blanket, and cozy up on the sofa with a book or (more likely) a laptop. On an especially cold day I even get the fireplace going (I live in a beautiful but drafty old Victorian house).
- Do all the household chores that have accumulated over the last little while. It feels like a terrible waste of time when the weather is sunny and you just want to be outside, but on a rainy day like today it does not feel so bad.
- Go for a walk! Yes, I actually LOVE walking in the rain! The key to a fun walk in the rain is the right raingear. I find umbrellas way too cumbersome to deal with, so instead I just wear a Goretex (breathable waterproof) jacket with a hood, Goretex pants and army boots. I usually don't bother with gloves, but you can get waterproof gloves too, if that's your preference. It's a lot of fun to just stroll about, admiring the fall colours, maybe walk by a cafe and take refuge there for a bit, reading some magazines with a cup of good latte and a cookie... Or I grab the dog and get all muddy running through the puddles with him. I feel especially invigorated after being outside in the cool, refreshing rain. And it's so much fun to come back, take a warm shower and THEN cozy up with a good book. :-)
- Go camping. I actually enjoy camping on rainy days. It's not enough to just have a tent though -- you need a tarp which is large enough so you don't feel trapped in one spot and is set up high enough so that you can start a fire without worrying about burning the tarp. Then you can sit, perfectly dry and happy, around the fire and do for all your favourite campfire activities, be it marshmallow roasting, singing, or storytelling.
I normally like to fall asleep on the couch or watch a movie : )
It's raining today, so this is very appropriate. I like to write hubs, of course! Drinking hot chocolate, staying in my pajamas.
I like to sit in front of a nice cosy fire, do some knitting or cross-stitch while watching a good movie. Or sit in front of the computer and do some writing - I find the rain quite soothing and inspirational! Just as well living in Scotland I guess!
I like to stay home and sleep in. Then get a nice book to read and relax and enjoy the calming noise of the rain. I live in Arizona where it does not rain often so when it does it is a wonderful thing.
I love to stay in pajamas, in bed, under blankets all day, watching movies or tv and eating yummy soup!

Do you let your cat outdoors? We have three cats, six months and younger. Although they are predominately indoor cats, we've been taking them outdoors daily for fresh air and sunshine. Also, we hope they get familiar with the surroundings in case they 'escape' outside. Any thoughts...

How do you feel on a rainy day?Does rain make you sad and depressed or do you see it as a sign of life and rebirth? Do you hate to have to get out in the rain or do you embrace it? Does it calm you or make you agitated?
