Not sure what you are asking here. If you mean "how do i play a game online on my PSP/PS3 with someone of the opposite console?" then i think you are out of luck. As far as i know, there is not a cross platform option like that. Now you can, sort of, play your PS3 on your PSP using "remote play", but all that does is let you access the PS3 XMB with your PSP. Again, someone correct me if i'm wrong...
Yes they both have remote play. But does that just mean that you would be more or less using your psp as a controller for the ps3?
Yes. And on top of that, many games can NOT be played through remote play on the PSP, for obvious lack of graphical power. Even the Vita is currently incompatible with most PS3 titles through remote play.
With the new E3 announcements it seems that they will have an effective way to have cross-platform play between the ps vita and the ps3, but for now I think it isn't available for the original PSP and the PS3. I'm in agreement with netslums.
