Do you enjoy playing video games with your children?
Do you play video games with your children? Which kind of games do you prefer? Who usually wins?
I used to enjoy it when they lived at home. Now I enjoy playing with my grandchildren. We play Mario or something like it on the Wii. My 8 year old grandchild beats me every time.
I grew up in the 80s (aka The Golden Age of Video Arcades) and still play 'em today. My kids (ages 5 and 10) also like them and we do play together. I don't keep up with all of the new systems that are out there (i.e. we don't own an Xbox or a Playstation) but my old Sega Genesis still works just fine and the kids each have a Nintendo DS. We play a lot of Mario, Kirby and Sonic the Hedgehog, and recently we all got hooked on a cool game for the DS called "Monster Tale" that I picked up on a whim for five bucks.
My 10 year old "beat" Sonic, which I have never been able to do in the 20+ years I've owned it. I didn't know if I should be proud, or jealous! Haha. I was like "Dude, you got MAD skillz!"
I don't have children of my own, but I do play video games with my younger cousins. Who wins? It depends on the game. We usually play racing, or action-platformers type games.
Since I have grown up playing them, I still play them with my kids. As a matter of fact I use it as an excuse to buy the latest edition of call of duty every year. He usually wins now but practices much more than I do.

I understand everyone needs a hobby or a past time, but should our adult males be playing video games more than our kids!! I have an older brother, he doesn't have any kids, yet instead of doing something constructive he will play the game,PS3, from dusk til dawn.

If you're over 40, why do you still play video games?I'm 44 and not ashamed to admit I own an Xbox and still really enjoy it when I get a chance to play. I think I'm of a generation that grew up with video games and I'll play them until the day I die.
