If you're over 40, why do you still play video games?

I'm 44 and not ashamed to admit I own an Xbox and still really enjoy it when I get a chance to play. I think I'm of a generation that grew up with video games and I'll play them until the day I die.

    For fun.

Actually I rarely ever play, but those strategy and occasional runs of FPS games can be great fun.

I've actually learned a lot from some of them. smile

Playing video games is not up to your age. There is also no sign that shows only children can paly it or some others. And every generation has their own fascinating games. They are spiritual direction.

I'm not convinced that being over forty, or any age should preclude you from doing whatever you want to do.  Maybe some behaviour or fashion is unbecoming in a certain age but actually... why the hell not?
Don't let age stop you doing anything.  Apart from press ups obviously.

I grew up playing video games so I will always enjoy them. Some people say, after you have children you shouldn't play video games... Uhhh?? WHY? Kids now a days love video games and why not turn that into parent child bonding? Why would they say rated M (must be 17 or older) on games if they expect you to stop playing them in your late 20's? That's like saying your to old to watch a certain kinda movie! I'm 23 and still love watching Lion King! So keep enjoying your video games! I personally love Black Ops, Smackdown vs Raw, Castle Crashers, Assassin's Creed, and NBA games. I grew up with the enjoyment of throwing my controller across the room and at the tv and I will continue to do so!... Well, minus throwing it at the tv, they aren't as strong as they use to be!

I'm not over 40, but my uncle is an avid gamer at 45. He loves them because of how he grew up, and then got into video games when they first came out.

What's age got to do with it? I am wondering. I still got a long way to go till 40 but i guess i'd still be playing video games and the reason simply is FUN.
