Feeling at Ease With Water Birth Technique Plus Amazing Videos

Water birth technique of giving birth --- Water birth technique is giving birth in a water and it is one example of natural way of giving birth. The main idea of giving birth in water is that since the baby in the womb floats in the placenta, when it is time for the baby to be born, it is like giving the baby the comfort of her environment.

Benefits for the mother : The pain is reduced with hydrotherapy and with water treatment if you are in water environment, most especially back pain and reduce the stress during labor.

According to American Pregnancy Association :

  • Water comforts and soothes the woman and help them in the labor especially at the latter stage of labor
  • "The buoyancy lessens her body weight, allows free movement and new positioning. and buoyancy Buoyancy promotes more efficient uterine contractions and better blood circulation, resulting in better oxygenation of the uterine muscles, less pain for the mother, and more oxygen for the baby".
  • The water serves as a comfort and the inhibition form the mother is reduced it lowers blood pressure as you are comfortable with water and it reduces stress
  • Water treatment makes the woman to produce endorphins which increases pain threshold for women

Benefits for the baby: aside from the fact that they are treated as if they are in their old environment the placenta the water birth techniques reduce fetal complications

Important things to consider when you decide to have water birth

  • These technique is used and approved in most countries in the world Like UK, US, Canada and all you need to do is locate a clinic in the area, if not if you choose to have a home water birth delivery it is best to consult a health provider which will assist you and provide techniques and give advice on what to do
  • Consultation with a health provider should be on a regular prenatal check ups
  • The pregnant woman and the partner should decide and work together during the prenatal stage and learning the technique including labor breathing technique.

CONCLUSION :

I think giving birth in water is an amazing experience and it is an option of giving birth which is deemed safe as long as you consult with a health provider. Whether you choose a hospital with water birthing facility or at home, a health provider should be there to guide the woman. A loving partner should also be at the side of the pregnant woman.

Great hub, had all 4 of my kids natural way, but in the hospital, I don't think my husband would have been able to handle a water birth. He could hardly handle the hospital birth :-)

Hi Pulse, you can actually research if it is done near your area. First is to find a medical provider who does this. you can actually do this both at home or water birthing clinics. Search for water birth clinics or provider at the Internet specify the area. Good luck,

Very informative and your videos are truly amazing.

Could this be done in the hospital or at home or both? I've never heard this technique done in any hospital here.

Just out of curiosity, why doesn't the baby breath in water coming out? Obviously it happens safely, but I'm just wondering why.

      Wonderful hub Maita.

2 of my grandchildren were water born at home, and my daughter although in labour for 11 hours with one of them came through very well, so gave birth in water again with the second one.

As you said in your hub, multiple birth is a different matter so the twins were born in a hospital. With proper medical supervision the water birth is a better experience for many mums, especially having the family at home, your own cuppa from your own kitchen and the familiar comforting environment. My daughter had soft lights and her own music as well.

Congratulations on this very fine work.

The miracle of child birth is something that will never cease to amaze me, as well as the absolute and undeniable courage and endurance a woman must have to go through this process. It is truly remarkable...

Coming from a man's perspective, you know, pain is not a very welcome thing. And speaking of babies... :)

My sister has her 4th due in August of this year and I'm definitely going to pass this along to her as I think the water birth thing is rather interesting.

      Amazing hub.
