do you think the chemicals we feed livestock are going to have a long term negative effect on...
humans?will our kids or our grandchildren develop health problems because of them?
Most definitely. I think we are already seeing it now, not just from livestock but the chemicals that are put in just about everything else people eat. No one ever heard of ADD or ADHD when I was a kid. Cancer wasn't as prevalent in our grandparents time. Neither was heart disease.
Yes, but we don't have to wait for the long-term. We're seeing it already. Look at our cancer, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease rates. It's impossible to prove cause, but there is plenty of association between the poor diet we eat, tied to the poor diet our food eats, tied to the poor diet we grow our plants on.
How many kids today are on medicine for attention defecit disorder? I'm only 32, and when I was in school no one was on that kind of medication. Now it's an empidemic. The long-term results are here and will only get worse until we wake up and stop poisioning our own food.
The health problems are already present because of such misuse of chemicals, and they are many of them- long term effects will be much worse, because every new generation will have much lower immunity and more new diseases will be developed.
Our grandchildren will not be very grateful to us, because they will not have anything to be grateful for - if we don`t start change our ways today, here and now.
Some of the chemicals have hazardous effects to all living things. However, few chemicals like urea, sodium, potassium and calcium are prescribed in limited quantities to animals. Pesticides, insecticides and synthetic chemicals used to protect crops and plants are harmful to animals and human beings. Chemicals used for giving colors to vegetables, adulterated oils used for making eatables are harmful to both animals and human beings. Its true that some of the chemicals are passed on to human beings through milk or meat. Our coming generations have to suffer from ill effects of increased use of harmful chemicals for monetary gains.
It's already happening the growth hormones in the chicken and pigs are causing boys and men to have breast look at the children the next time you go to the swimming hole young boys with floppy breast, that's not from mom smoking pot either. Not to mention what GM corn is doing to my horses,if you pile two piles of corn next to each other one GM the other Heirloom seed feed corn (very hard to find and very expensive) every time the horse will eat the Heirloom seed first and some that are use to the better corn wont touch the GM even after its sat there for days. I've noticed this in the deer too.The really scarry thing is that most of what you buy from the store is GM like tomatoes they last so long on the shelf because they have a geene from the cockroach wing in them. Just this past fall I did an experiment for some skeptical friends of mine.I set a brand new ripe tomato out in a place where it could get open air all around it,3 months later it got a small dark spot on it,it was beginning to rot,it took till the first freeze to actually break down to a messy rotten tomato that was a 5 month experiment.I grew up with fresh grown produce and I've never seen a real tomato last more than three weeks even a green picked would rot in the window in less than a month.
Some want to blame our government for this but it's much bigger than that,It's the new world order and their ultimate goal is to thin us out.Just look at the chem trails I've got a special forces medical book and it says that those trail are a two part spray most likely to kill the vegatation when 2012 comes around, which is going to all be manmade events and people are going to think it's the end, nope it's just the beginning of some thing that we will wish was the end.
Absolutely! After being shot up with steroids and anti biotics, our livestock are fed corn grain sprayed with insecticides, grown from depleted soil, enriched with fertilizers and bombarded with pesitcides, herbicides, and a host of other 'cides. But they grow bigger in half the time. If you don't believe all this stuff is making us sick why won't other countries import our beef or poultry. It doesn't pass their standards for edible food! Of course after feeding us preservatives for 50 years in every thing else we eat, we may counter the affects of poisoned meat! Oh wait, then there's the water and genetically altered food and food they gas to give it greater sex appeal. Sorry. Don't get me started!
The effect of chemicals namely, pesticides and hormones, have an immediate effect and a long term effect. It is inescapable. Everyone who studies the problem knows this but the effects are weighed against the problems of food shortages in theory and lobbyists in reality.
YES! They now feed antibiotics to farm animals that ARE NOT EVEN SICK! antibiotics are HORRIBLE! Not to mention what they do to fruit and veggies now, it would blow your mind!
the reason i asked is that this is always something that concerned me. i can't begin to think of how these growth hormones and other chemicals will effect our future generations. i eat the stuff , so what it does to me is my fault , but my family and i have started buying meet from farmers that only feed their animals with natural food. i hope it helps because my kids shouldn't have to pay for what i eat.
Absolutely, I was brought up on a farm where no pesticides were used. Organic is by far the best way to go. But before all the farmers are up in arms, shouting about expense and profits, I realise this is not always practical. However, we have a choice. All my family and my animals eat organic food endorsed by the vegetarian society. Yes that includes the horses and dogs.
