Why is Marijuana illegal?
It is less harmful than tobacco or alcohol. Marijuana comes from the Hemp plant. The first Ford was not only made from a material made from Hemp but was also designed to run on Hemp oil. This fast growing nutritious plant could, on its own relieve World starvation. In the old days a ships rigging and sails were made from Hemp and the word cannabis comes from the Dutch word for canvas. This plant is too valuable to be illegal.
I agree Rafken. I'm going to write a hub about this today, thanks for the question!
Although I don't use marijuana I agree that it shouldn't be illegal. Besides, I think most people would agree that cigarettes are more dangerous in comparison. How many people die yearly from the various illnesses caused by cigarette smoke? Hundreds of thousands?????
It is legal in California and it seems that while some use if for medicinal purposes, others abuse, even publically, for recreation.
Ah, it seems you may have read my Hub article http://somethgblue.hubpages.com/hub/Did … of-America
or we read the same books and research material. It has even greater value as a medicinal plant the oil from this plant has CURED many forms of cancer, most notable skin cancer. http://somethgblue.hubpages.com/hub/Ame … e-Censored
Hemp was on the verge of breaking up three HUGE monopolies, Steel, Paper and Oil when it was illegally criminalized in 1937.
In the Poll on the Illegal Criminalization article I questioned my readers on whether it should be made legal and of over 400 participants 98% said yes!
Making marijuana illegal was mostly the work of none other than John D. Rockefeller and family, they spent thousands convincing specifically nuns, but other religious groups as well, that it was the root to all of the evil going on in the country. They in turn convinced government officials. They did the same thing to alcohol, hence prohibition. As somethgblue has mentioned it was specifically so they could keep their oil monopoly going strong. If they had not the world would be a much different place.

Minimum Wage Needs To Go Up To A Fair Wage And The Rich Should Pay Their Fair Share Of TaxesThe wealthy should have to pay their fair share of taxes but this just isn't happening. Do you agree or disagree with legalizing marijuana. Why... why not?

I personally think it is ridiculous that it's not allowed. But according to polls the majority disagree with me! Surely there must be somebody on here that favors the outlawing of marijuana. Tell me why!
