What are some great home workout options that include some cardio and some strength training?

I don't have a car for the next few weeks, which means I'll be exercising at home and not the gym.  I need to do a work out of about 30 minutes each day that isn't too hard and doesn't require pieces of equipment - I only have 2 dumbbells. Is there anything easy to follow out there that also doesn't require a DVD workout, etc?

If you have roku or another device where you can run the app on your TV you can get a 15 day trial to The Gym Box.  We have Roku and it streams channels basically and things like Netflix etc.  Anyway the gymbox has dozens of different workouts you can choose from kickboxing, step aerobics, power yoga etc. and you just click and play whatever workout you want - great variety.  You can do the 15 days free and then after that it's a 10 dollar a month membership which I think will be worth the money because I bore easily.  Just do a google search for "the gym box" and you should be able to pull it right up.  You can watch previews and see if you think you'll enjoy it.

Thanks CristinS - will keep a look out for this option, it sounds like fun, and more importantly convenient!

If you have dumbbells, you have almost everything you need.  I played football for many years and as a result my knees are tanked.  Because I can't simply go out and run for cardio, I have had to use a weight training program to maintain muscle tone, while managing some cardio as well.  If you circuit train very quickly you can get an excellent workout.  Generally I take about 30 minutes for my entire routine, but I rarely stop for more than 10 seconds between sets, and I group my exercises.  You need to establish a routine that works for you, but here is an examples.

    With your dumbbells:

Concentration curls with your elbow inside your knee, then move to over head press grabbing the dumbbell with both hands.  Rest, repeat (3 sets)

Shrugs, then move to calf raises.  Rest, repeat (3 sets)

Squats toes in, then squats toes out Rest, Repeat (3 sets)

    Without dumbbells:

Crunches, then pushups Rest, repeat (3sets)

You just worked your chest, your biceps, your triceps, you back, your thighs, your calves, your core and your abs while getting a solid cardio workout as well.  Add additional exercises as you are comfortable.

Don't worry, you won't bulk up, you will just start to see really nice definition, but I promise it will remain feminine.  (Women always seem to worry about bulking up, so I thought I would add that caveat).

    My 2 cents.
