How do you cope with the Panic Attacks?
Other than medication, what are the ways to avoid panic attacks?
Here is a hub that I wrote awhile ago that describes how I cope with panic attacks: http://sheilawilson.hubpages.com/hub/St … -Self-talk
I have found that the quicker that I use this coping skill when I start feeling anxious, the more likely I am to be able to stop the panic attack before it starts. If the symptoms have already started, I can still use it to feel more in control of the situation and lessen the severity of the panic attack symptoms.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is really good for stopping one once it starts. NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) might also help you. I used to suffer from agoraphobia, but I used NLP and now I don't have it anymore.
Distractions. I have had two panic attacks in my life. Life will eventually include at least one. The best thing to do in this case is a mental and physical distraction. Some kind of sport that requires using your sense of strategy, music performance, video games, but what you do should have a positive implication on your daily life.
