   Sit down, before I fall down!
   It really depends on why you have a headache. If you do not normally have headaches and you get a severe one, it may be wise to consult the doctor or even go to the emergency room.
   
   Some dizzy headaches come from inner ear infections and it may be necessary to take medication or else suffer dizziness for up to 6 weeks before you fully recover.
   
   Some people are subject to migraine headaches. They often know what triggers these and if they avoid the triggers, they may be able to avoid the migraine.

   Definitely sit down or lay on the sofa before i collapse! Then, use medicated oil to rub on the forehead and sniff a little to wake me up. Takes a while before regaining the strength to walk to the kitchen for a glass of water and search the sites for reasons.

   Correct, you must first decide what type of headache you have. There are a few simple guidelines to determine this that are fairly universal.
   If your headache is localized in one or both of your eyes or you have what is referred to as aurora which refers to spots or waves of light in your vision, you most definitely have a migraine headache. In this case, according to the severity, you may want to consult a physician who will no doubt go the drug route. However, if you think you can make it without going to the hospital, find the darkest room you can with the least amount of stimulation, especially visual and aromatic. These can make it worse very quickly or prevent it from disapating. Fill a decent sized bowl with the hottest water you can tolerate having your hands in. Soak a rag or towel in the hot water and place it on your head in the area the pain is localized. When it loses heat, place it back in the hot water and repeat. Ideally you will have someone next to you who will do this for you so you can lay as still as possible. Other products are available to pop in the microwave that will last longer,but simple water and a rag are easily accessible in a pinch...or migraine in your case!
   The other type of headache that is commonly felt is a tension headache. In this case, you will typically have more of a dull pain that can start on the top of your head and travel down your neck. Massage and, again, localized heat will be your best home remedies!
   The final type of headache that is common is the sinus headache. You can easily diagnose this with signs of congestion and localized pain around your nose that travels into and around the inside corners of your eyes and into your brow. A simple saline solution will usually cleanse your passages or for more severe cases, you can usually accomplish your goal by soaking a small rag with several drops of peppermint extract and inhaling the vapors.
   Always consult a physician if symptoms persist to be sure there are no underlying problems.
