Sleep, so precious! There are about 80 identified sleep disorders, but a few really prominent ones are snoring, sleep apnea (OSA), restless leg syndrome (RLS) and insomnia.
Something can often be done about all of them, but sometimes there isn't anythingg that will help
Snoring: wt loss is likely to help
c-pap is often prescribed
OSA: weight loss will be recommended (highly). Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)
Restless leg Syndrome:
medication specifically for the RLS when ordered by the physician
sometimes muscle relaxants work.
Insomnia: where do I start? People tend o hear from a neighbor that someone hasn't ben sleeping.
Too often people get 'hooked' on a sleeping pill, when they would likely benefit more from changing the conditions under which they sleep-fresh air, only using the bed/room for sleep and sex, not exercising a few hours before sleep (you've heard it all-sleep hygiene) If things like RLS or OSA are keeping one awake, faithful taking of meds will definitely help.
