What will you do differently this year compared to last year?
Is there anything you plan to change about yourself this year?
"Happy New Year," Marcy. At this age, the reality is I've probably made any and all major "changes" (about myself) possible. Well, maybe not all that are possible, but what I wanted to change to any degree. Like Popeye," I is what I is and that's all that I is." That's a good thing.
There are going to be some definite changes in my life though. With the exception of a few years here and there, I've lived in the area of my birth and where I raised my sons for the majority of their lives. I have no regrets at all about this. We've always been near family and the area itself is a great place to live, go to school and work.
This year I'm taking a huge step. I'm putting my house on the market, closing down a business, selling/donating/discarding....80% of my "stuff".....packing up what's left and moving South. I'll be going to where son #3 & wife & kids live. He gets to be the "LUCKY" one who has Gram-Dawg around.....by default actually. My eldest lives in California.....no way am I going to the other side of the Country, not to mention the fact that I'm just not the "California" kind of person! LOL Sons #2 & #4 live here.....so we've been near one another forever.
It feels to me like I'm starting a whole new life. I'm getting more and more excited about it.
So......I'm sure I'll keep everyone here posted on my activities!...Peace, Paula
Good for you, Paula! How far south are you moving? Looks as though you'll be leaving harsh winters behind for a more moderate climate. Best wishes! (And I'm sure your son, daughter-in-law and grand-kids who live where you're moving do feel lucky.)
Thanks Jaye...they live in a nice community outside of Atlanta Georgia. This was no small decision for me but it's the right one. I wish you all the best of everything in 2015!
happy new year to everyone! 2015, I will sleep early, interact at Hubpages every day, write at least 1 hub per month
Good goals. (Are you a night owl like I am? If so, going to sleep early may take a bit of practice!)
Good for you. SLEEP is a wonderful thing! It gives us the rest & break we need from our busy lives.!!
I'm going to force myself to go regularly to a health club that has exercise classes for people who are "physically challenged" in an attempt to regain strength I've lost along with some of my mobility. I'll begin with one class per week and move on to two as soon as I can. No excuses! I spend too much time sitting in a chair in front of my computer, and that must be altered. Sitting too much is bad for my health and quality of life. I remind myself that I'm in charge here. I CAN make this change.
When I wished family members and friends a "Happy New Year", I really liked the response from one of my adult grandsons. He told me that he prefers to reflect on the past year rather than hope that the upcoming one will be good. Since 2014 saw him become a new husband and open a new business with his wife, I think he may have something with his reflection philosophy!
My own reflections about 2014 lead me to the same plan for this year: regular exercise is a priority! Renewed or improved physical strength should assist me with everything I do as the year unfolds.
I put my plan for change in 2015 in writing on HP so that any friends who read it are welcome (in fact, encouraged) to ask me about it throughout the year. Hold my feet to the fire!
Yes indeed, every year I continuously plan to change the way I play defence on our Old-Timers hockey team. I am notorious for the infamous "pinch & die" move. In other words, I "pinch in" to our opponent's end, try to score, usually fail, and then I get caught out-of-position ( i. e. die) as the other team counter-attacks... I also want to be more positive this year. My +/- could be better. I need to be on the ice when we score and off the ice whenever our opponent scores.
Thus, to summarize,
(1) stay alive (NOTE: I died once before).
(2) be positive.

OK, so it's probably too soon to tell, but along with getting a higher percentage of my views from Google searches, it looks a bit like my Amazon sales have increased both in number and amount since we switched from subdomains to a single domain. Is anyone else seeing this? Even if it isn't the...

A difficult one to answer without offending people.I have made massive changes in my own life, and the battle is between you and your inner voice, it tends to lie to you to make things easier and create excuses so you can procrastinate and not do the hard stuff in life (and no I am not a crazy...

What would you write in a letter to yourself "How to alleviate my own depression?"If you had to write a letter from your normal self to yourself in a state of depression, what would be in that letter? I was my assignment three years ago, and I still have not written this letter. It...

It's only the 20th of the Month, but my earnings for this month are already 10 times greater than what it was for April last year. It's also almost the highest ever (even though CPMs are half of what they were in December) It's mostly due to increased traffic and the CPMs (compared to last year). I...
