   Is it okay for a woman to blame her bad mood on her period hormones, assuming she's on her cycle?

   Of course it is.  A woman can do what she damn well likes when she is pre-menstrual.  Since the dawn of time it's a well known fact that men run for the hills when a woman is in this state.  Often however, it is other women who have difficulty dealing with other women who are moody.  Perhaps this is because the woman reacting to the moody woman's rants is herself moody and intolerant of her own self when she is having similar moods!
   
   Tribally woman had their periods in sync and it was a time for 'secret women's business.'  You would gather in your own woman cave and do all sorts of amazing things while bleeding. Like share your grievances, your difficulties, and laugh like there was no tomorrow at the little things that didn't really matter.  Above all, there was empathy.  It was a time to be a woman and acknowledge that women bleed.  You can imagine the gossip that went on!
   
   Energetically it is well known that when a woman has her period there is a greater impaction of emotions and thoughts that she has to contend with.  Commonly known as PMT but despised and ridiculed as something that is controllable; This impaction was the number one reason that women were forbidden in temples around the time of their periods. This turmoil created by a group of emotional women was felt 'throughout the land.'  It upset the serenity, the calm that was normal in a temple.  A flurry of disquiet flooded the space of the temple and upset everyone.  It is not because women were seen as inferior or less then.  It was a well known experiential fact that when menstruation happened, women had a difficult time of it and the community suffered.
   
   We live in a society where intolerance is normal.  A bad mood is a bad mood.  Can you imagine if you are reacting to another person's bad mood, imagine what is happening to the actual person who is having it?  The key here is to not take it personally.  Have a little compassion for how that person is feeling, and perhaps a spare chocolate bar could sooth the savage beast.  Or even better, acknowledge her bad space and offer to talk about it, empathize, go do coffee.
   
   So yes, it is definitely okay for a women to have a mood.  It is a shame that our society is geared more toward the 8 hour day and working our asses off to pay bills instead of living lives as they could and should be lived.  All women could have the first 2 days of their periods off and go do secret women's business.

   No. It's bad form and something I've never done---and frankly, my cycles were tough. Nevertheless, I took my Midol and waited it out. Women who are moody, in general, will use the menstrual cycle as an excuse to  act like bitches, but frankly, that's just plain tacky. People go through worse crap everyday, so unless you are homeless and sleeping on a bench----you'd best keep your drama to yourself. Also, I am not referring to you. I have a feeling the author of this question may very well agree with me.

   Of course it's okay. People get away with being "moody" for a lot less - to feel like you're having the flu on top of shoving a tampon inside your body would make anyone moody and they shouldn't have to put on a happy front just to make everyone else more comfortable.
