Perception is everything.
There was over 45C outside and I have been sqeezed with others in an old four wheel drive. We have been second day on the road. I felt tired and grumpy when we stopped in front of a dusty petrol station in the middle of nowhere. We have been surprised to see many cars stopped there.
We heard loud cheering and laughing from the adjoined 'burger shop'. An old sweaty man was serving customers, making burgers with a quick efficient movement in spite of the heat and telling jokes to cheer up tired travellers. He spotted us and straight away he pointed to the big sigh behind him: ' There is no way leading to happiness, happiness is the way.'
" You must so happy to be on your way to your holiday destination," he smiled at us handing us our burgers: " But I would not swap with you for anything, I love it here, I love my petrol station and my burger's shop, I make a good business here."
" Here?" I laughed: " It is in the middle of nowhere, hot and dusty, a lot of flies, a few tired travellers passing by..."
" You can make a good business anywhere, it is just up to you." He laughed and waved to us: " Have a great holiday."
Suddenly I realized how happy I was and how successful was that old owner of the small petrol station in the middle of nowhere.
