Fresh Fruit Juice is a really good source of minerals and vitamins which help in activation of enzymes and co-enzymes and without minerals and vitamins, our body enzymes are not able to perform their job well and without these enzymes and co-enzymes, we cannot live. It is interesting to note that these enzymes and co-enzymes work as catalysts in performing millions of chemical reactions which take place on a regular basis inside our body. These enzymes help our body in digestion of food and absorption of important vitamins and minerals and transformation of food into our body tissue and provide nutrition. As you may know, human body is based on cells and these enzymes provide energy to the cells and are really important for almost all the activities that we do each and every time through our body. Fresh fruit juices are a really good source of these enzymes. It is important to note that the juice should be fresh if you want to get benefits from it that is why it is highly advised to keep the fruit juice in refrigerator as soon as you have processed the juice. There are millions of enzymes found in fresh fruit juice but these enzymes are destroyed by heat, and if they are destroyed and your juice is not fresh, then there is no use of drinking fruit juice. Fruit juice must be consumed with a few hours or at max within the same day. Do not ever drink stale or unfresh fruit juice as it is detrimental to our health and can cause infection and indigestion. Actually, our body will try to throw it back. Moreover, when you will try to drink a day old fruit juice, you will on your own realize that it is not fresh because of its bitter taste and bad smell whereas fresh fruit juice always tastes and smells best whether it is sweet or sour. You can also try fresh vegetable juice to get benefits from them.

When vegetables and fruits are juiced, enzymes stay in their raw state in the juice when you consume the juice, so you want to acquire benefits of fruit juice, then the best way is to include healthy and fresh fruit juice in your diet on a daily basis. Another benefit of drinking fresh fruit juice is that our body is not able to absorb more minerals and vitamins if we eat whole fruit because there are many nutrients that are trapped within the fiber content of the fruit and when the juice is processed of that fruit, it breaks the fibers and releases the important nutrients, therefore, consuming fresh fruit juice is much more beneficial that eating a raw fruit if you want your body to absorb more useful vitamins and minerals. If your goal is to consume more fiber, than a whole fruit is better as it contains more fiber in its skin.

Some Tips & Advice for Preparing Fresh Homemade Juice (Fruits and Vegetables)

  • All fruits and vegetables must be processed in their natural state. When choosing a fruit for making juice, always select a fresh and ripe fruit because unripe, overripe, and bruised are not healthy and will not taste good.
  • Small seeds of fruits like pears and watermelon can be processed with the seeds but seeds of apple and papaya should be removed before making juices. Seeds of fruits like grapes and oranges should also be removed as they give a bitter taste to your fresh juice. Also remember to remove large seeds from peaches and tangerines.
  • Next step is to first of wash and then peel your fruit well. The outer skin of oranges, grapes, kiwis, pineapples, and papayas should be removed in total.
  • Now cut the vegetable or fruit into small pieces so that it can fit into the "mouth" of the fruit juicer.
  • Always drink fresh juice on the same day.

One important thing to note is that processing of fresh fruit juice decreases fiber, so if you need fiber to lose weight or treat your IBS problems as suggested by your gastroenterologist, you should eat the fruit raw to get maximum fiber. When fruits are squeezed to get juices, it provides with many advantages as the body absorbs the enzymes found in juices at an amazing speed, absorbing all their vitamins and minerals quickly. Benefit of fresh fruit juice includes absorption of vitamins and minerals in our body including vitamin C from orange juice and minerals like potassium from bananas and carotenoids from carrots.       I eat my guayabano fruit rather than extract its juice. I tried once but it took me sometime to remove the numerous seeds. I wasn't able to remove all and so my juice got sprays of the dark crushed seeds.

      I have a big tree in my backyard and this variety is too sweet to just ignore its fruit falling rotten on the ground.

      I mix carrots with cucumber and apple or orange in my juicer. Cucumber adds more juice. Try it! And thank you for this info on juicing and its health benefits.

      I just wanted to add that we have a fruit that's said to be 10,000 stronger than chemotherapy in fighting cancer cells. this fruit is called Guyabano/Guayabano/Soursop/Graviolla. This fruit can also lower blood pressure and calm nerves.

      Neat isn't it? You can certainly make a fruit juice with this one. It has a sour taste in it. You guys need to try it :)

      Great article. We just bought our first juicer (Breville), and tried a recipe with beets, sweet potatoes and carrots yesterday. Tastes better than it sounds and very high in carotene.

      I had a yummy glass of cantaloupe-strawberry with lunch today.

      You are right quicksand, I have seen a salesman spraying on the fruits when I visited a supermarket a few days back. When I asked him, he told me this is to increase our foods shelf life. Thanks a lot quicksand for letting me remember the same and yes peeling becomes necessary if you are buying from a local grocery store or supermarket.

      Cool! Well Raj, I am used to eating grapes without peeling off the skin. However I, like many others spit out the skin along with the seeds after "extracting" the juice.

      Anyway, I guess peeling would be a safe thing to do because in the supermarkets they spray something on grapes as well as other fruits to increase their shelf life.

That's the right thing for us as this does not lead us into any problems like forgetting it in the refrigerator for a day or two and then throwing it away. I myself don't like wasting food, especially nature's precious gifts like fruits and vegetables.

      My mom used to make us fresh squeezed juice regularly when we were kids. There's nothing like a cup of fresh squeezed fruit juice in the morning. Not only is it refreshing, you feel good knowing that you are taking care of your body. I haven't had it in so long, but this hub makes me think that I will have to invest in a juicer now.
