    the only side effect would arise from eating poor quality capsules which have not been tested for mercury.

    And I would say that's a huge side effect , ingesting such a toxic metal can do great amount of harm to your health.

    bleeding is a serious side effect. you should inform your surgeon if you are taking fish oil. he'll tell you how long before surgery you need to stop taking it.

    As long as you don't overdo it you should be ok, nobody ever says what are the side effects of eating fish, and essential the same oils are in the capsule.
