Any fiber you get from food is natural and will always be the best....supplements are for those that don't eat the right foods. So, If you are not getting enough fiber from natural food diet than it is recommended to supplement.
The answer is no. There are so many different types of fiber. Even looking at the simplistic differences in soluble and insoluble fibers is compelling enough.
Now, take more specific fibers like inulin. Not only is inulin probiotic, but 4 grams a day has been shown to improve calcium uptake. That evidence is compelling enough that the FDA will allow food marketing to claim it (while we know supplements can claim ANYTHING, provided it doesn't claim to "treat, prevent, diagnose or cure disease.
This gives me an idea for a hub. Thanks
