    no, but signing it over 2 the hospital is an option. they can turn that baby over 2 cps so the adoption process can begin.
    a friend of mine was the product of a rape. her mom's dad raped her & my friend's mom got pregnant. after birthing, she signed off & left the baby @ hospital (she was only 13). the hospital then took custody of the baby & then adoption happened @ 3 days old. the hospital does this ALL the time 4 mothers who simply can't care 4 their babies 4 whatever reason. the cases the hospital handles r endless. there's been some cases where a disabled baby was born, & there was already 2 much going on, so the parents give the baby 4 adoption right there @ the hospital. the hospital staff then takes the next step & necessary paperwork/releases r signed, permitting alternate custody of the baby

    The doctor said my unborn child would have a chromosome abnormality. I chose not to abort. We had our daughter with us for eight months, she was an absolute delight, a joy to all who met her.

    Life wasn't always easy for her but I know without doubt, some of it was wonderful. I don't regret for a moment my decision to see the pregnancy through. If my choice had been to abort, I believe there would have been many moments of regret for many years to come.

    I have nothing but pride knowing I gave her a chance at life.
