I always write, poetry at times like those, sort of takes me to places and I am not aware it is a healing. If it is stuff that pours out that is negative, then after writing burn it, that also is a healing.

Yep, Chocolate works or maybe ice cream. Cookies and candy bars are good too. Hmmm. I see a pattern here.
Spend time with someone worse off than you. Take the dog for a walk. Call an old friend. Get involved in a good book.
Do anything that will claim your full attention.
I try not to eat :-)
I find a song that makes me happy, or a child that needs a hug...
I truly think that to life yourself up you need to find what makes you smile on any normal day and do it! I paint, write, sculpt or bead. Creating something with my hands soothes me, and gets my mind off what is troubling me.
