Why am I not happy unless I fit in size zero jeans? Even then, I feel too fat....

I went from a happy size six in June 2008 to someone struggling to stay at 105 in a matter of months. I had two emebergency surgeries, but weren't the cause. I lost my godfather/hero/pastor to suicide, and I'll never get completely over it. When I am sad, I can't eat. In the past year, I've lost a godfather, a friend my age, two loves ones to cancer, and my perfectly healthy grandmother died the day they said she could leave the hospital. I feel like I've earned those size zeros. I lost control of EVERYTHING.... everything but my weight, which is why hunger makes me feel more powerful.

Because you let the pictures of those who wear and advertise these products influence your thinking too much.  You don't see just the fact that the jeans are attractive you tend more to see that a "thin girl" looks good in those jeans.  So as you go to buy them it is with the predisposition that you must be thin in order to wear them.  This is a phase that we are going through in the modeling industry. We have been here before in the back in the 60's when "Twiggy" was around.  Honestly, after females get too thin, they lose muscle bulk which accents their curves and shape.  They become less attractive and appear frail.  Find out your optimum weight and muscle/body mass index and shoot for that.  If that puts you in a size 1 or 2 jean, big deal...I will bet that with some workout and muscle tone you will find yourself getting far more attention. And, you will like yourself even better because you are marching to the beat of your own drum rather than following that of someone else. WB

A womans body beautifully sculptured is one of Gods greatest gifts to man.

Just as much as fat can be turnoff, so can a skeletal and bony body.

Find who you are from within and if you are to focus on your body try caring for it so that it pleases you with out starving yourself.

The feeling you will find after a strong workout or run can be every bit as empowering as the feeling you get from hunger. The thing is you will need to feed your body in order get that 'HIGH"

God be with you and I hope you find your right path...

Your first step is a physical.  Assuming tha checks out positively, you should then seek counseling.  Clearly, your self image is in question as a result of stresses in your life that you are unable to process.

You don't 'earn' a size zero.

The other sad reality of life is that everyone is going to die.  I can also share with you something I learned as a former hospice volunteer; the majority of people die at home.  They are in their comfort zone and are able to let go.  So, when they told your grandmother she could leave the hospital, she felt less fearful, and in all liklihood, let go.

Death is a natural event, albeit a sad one for the survivors.  But this is not reason for you to endanger and/or shorten your own life expectancy.  More to the point, your grandparents would not want this.  They would want you to live out your life happily.
We must each follow our own path.

Seek medical assistance; then seek counseling.

Don't worry.  As part of the female clothing industry effort to make you all feel good, next year size 2 will be the new size 0.
