    I think this all depends on your body shape, height, and the cut of the jeans.  Because sizes vary so wildly these days I would say don't get stuck on an idea of a "size number" because it won't usually be right smile

    I am thicker in the middle and have slim legs I am also quite petite, for me low rise jeans fit the way regular fit jeans should for example lol.  So I stick with low rise jeans that are boot cut or even flared a bit - it creates a nicer look for me. 

    Skinny jeans I would say are universally pretty unflattering.  Always try them on and look in a 3 way mirror when you do - and try multiple sizes.  Better to be a size big and a bit loose than too tight, but at the same time you don't want your clothes so loose that they just hang and sag either.  Pretty much you just have to try on a lot of different ones and when you find a brand/size you like stick with them.
