Some experts say that we only use 1/10 of our mind at the most. Jesus said that if one said mountain move into the sea than it would if one didn't doubt. So, my faith and education in science all teach that the mind has not been fully developed.

The goal, it appears, is obviously to have faith in God thru Jesus without any doubt and whole hearted; possessing the Holy Spirit is the answer. Science has proven that the mind does have some healing powers. The scientist view is if it sputters, than it can be made to run.

Yes, I have worked in health care, in one form or another, for most of my adult life and i have seen patients that should be dead, but make it riding the wave of sheer will.  I know it sound cliche, but attitude really does play a part in recovery, and conversely, the opposite is true, people with no will to live, usually don't. I have seen several patient who hang on until a family member arrives, in a few cases, they held on even after we removed life support.  I have seen many things that simply defy explanation save for "mind over matter". However, I do not think all ailments can be cured with the power of the mind, there are rare, extraordinary examples in medicine of spontaneous remission of cancer or chronic disease, but i would still bet on the thousands of years of medical knowledge. Just my humble opinion.

The simple answer is yes... However ailments can be defined as the body leting us know that we are imbalanced. Most people are mentally lazy and living stressful and unhealthy lifestyles and are unwilling to change and that's why we need thing outside our bodies, i.e., medications. I have been a nurse for over a decade and a Reiki Practitioner for about a year and if a person is mentally focus they can and will achieve any level of health that they desire.
