Is cicumsision legal for women in the uk??
Where in the world should we ask for equality we men are allowed to be circumsised and women are not??? It would prevent obesity heart attacks rape ect and save the NHS millions each year not to mention abortion and miscarraige. I should not to be made to feellike I am only good for one thing.... STAND UP FOR OUR RIGHTS WOMEN and LEGALISES CIRCUMSISION...
This looks like a serious question and then seems to turn into a rant of somesort, it is even difficult to determine your gender.
However, for the record:
In the UK, the Prohibition of Female Circumcision Act 1985 was replaced with the Female Genital Mutilation Act 2003, which repeated the provision of the 1985 Act and applied them extra-territorially. In effect, this protects girls and women taken overseas for the purpose of genital mutilation. The new law also increased the maximum penalty on conviction and indictment for FGM from 5 years to 14 years imprisonment. However, there have been no prosecutions under the law despite more and more women presenting themselves to health care professionals with FGM related complications.
I oppose male circumcision, too, but comparing the two procedures is inappropriate and benefits neither cause.
The difference between male circumcision and female genital mutilation is like the difference between ripping out a fingernail and cutting off the whole hand.

Why is circumcision still a considered a normal procedure in America? It's as if its the procedure is done, then they look for the disease they're trying to prevent. Only to find that they've forcefully mutilated a baby with the windiest of reasoning. It's like cutting off the breasts of baby girls...
