High fiber diet helps in better absorption and digestion of food. Some foods have high amounts of calories and proteins but its no use if they are not properly absorbed.Fiber food will help in doing so.
But fiber will not contain any calories. If you consume fiber alone it will make a feeling that your stomach is full. In that perspective fiber may help in reducing weight coz you will not wish to eat further and hence no calorie or protein intake
fiber helps everything "keep moving" so there is less built up waste in your system, plus as there is less of THAT going on - your body is better able to process and remove additional toxins and waste that may inhibit your natural ability to lose weight.
Think of fiber as the "oil" & your body as the "machine" - you want to have a well oiled machine so it runs smoothly.
