is is adequate to conduct two fire drills in 30 years
Fire drills are a real hassle, they disrupt the whole building and are a general inconvenience. However when a real emergency happens people make silly decisions as a result of panic and at times they rush themselves for no real reason.
Regular fire drills ensure everyone knows where they need to be and how to leave the building quickly and safely with a number of alternative routes in mind to get to the pre-determined assembly point.
By assigning tasks to people like calling a roll of the employees and getting a first aid kit etc you will not only make people responsible for something but also more aware should an emergency happen for real.
Wow maybe 2 a year but in 30 years? wow you are shorting yourself out. If an actual fire occured no one would really know the drill to follow. I'm sure they'd know to get out but if they don't know where to go then people might stil think others are in the building.
