Trying to be happy 24/7 might be hard, but you can do things to make life easier. What I mean is when there is a problem you can talk it out or talk to some one about it that you trust, walk away, stay busy with something you like to do, live life like it is your last day. That is just my general opinion.
I do not believe that we can be always happy. But we can cultivate a serene state of mind and prone to happiness.
Few things I think are essential:
know and love ourselves ( seem simple but is often a hard journey, but wonderful and infinite ), appreciate the things that we have, starting with the smallest (a smile, a ray of sunshine, a good sleep, a funny friend...)
You don't get what you want and so are unhappy; you get what you want and you fear of losing it, or of it getting stolen or broken, and so are unhappy. The way to happiness is by recognizing your attachments and letting them go.
