Is there a natural alternative to antibiotics that's safe to give children & babies, if so how...
do you know the right dosage to give them?
It depends on what the problem is. I studied herbal medicine for two years. When my son was young I gave him echinacea for colds, and garlic oil for earaches (both are antibacterial). Doses are often based on weight. There are many herbs safe for children, and many more that are not. If you buy from a health food store, there may be a clerk that can help you with which remedies are safe and the appropriate dosage.
Colloidal silver is a great product to use. Liquid Vit. D3 is also great as a preventative. Follow dosage instructions on the bottles.
No there is no natural antibiotics. There are however natural alternatives to help strenghten the immune system; for example Vitamin C, Echinacea. These are used as a prophylactic to prevent the need for antibiotics.
The best way to prevent infections in ourselves and our children is through the daily usage of probiotics, and digestive enzymes to break down the foods we eat. They are the good/beneficial bacteria that promote immune health in our bodies, and prevent wrong conditions. Proper diet is paramount, which means a diet high in life giving nutrients, such as: fruits, veggies, grains, beans, non-poisonous herbs, sea life, and naturally occuring super nutrients. Knowledge of the numerous beneficial natural substances available, will only increase your ability to stay healthy. When our bloodstreams contain all or most of the necessary elements, and constituents to promote and sustain life, it will create an atmosphere in our bodies conducive to health/life, not sickness/disease/poor quality health/early death!
The only possible way of truly strengthening our immune systems is by, Living according to the rules of Nature! The more nutrients our bodies contain from Nature, the healthier our lives will become!
Oil of Oregano is a naturally immune booster/antibiotic. Call it what you will. Introduce it into a system and it attacks bacteria. (from a FAQ on herbalist site): For infants and children up to the age of seven, external use only is mandated. Dilute one drop in a teaspoon or less of vegetable oil and massage into the soles of the feet. The oil may also be inhaled straight from the bottle or by placing a drop on a tissue or cloth. For older children the oil may be taken internally. It is advised to use only one drop and dilute it with olive oil, juice or a teaspoon of honey to reduce the heat sensation which may be too strong for a child.
Additionally, oil of oregano has been shown to kill stubborn strains of bacteria that other antibiotics don't.
Coloidal silver definitely is an immune booster. I like to administer it internally and externally -- on cuts, burns. A little goes a looooong way.
