Is it alright for you if someone else smoking by your side ? What would you do ?
For some people; cigarette or cigar is such poison or hazardous stuff which has to be thrown away from them -- but for some others this thing is very enjoyable that they get addicted in it. Where is your position ?
If it is an open space I would not care much. If a closed place like a room, I would go out, or if inconvenient to go out, I would bring it to the attention of the smoker politely.
I don't mind anyone smoking, but if it's too close from me, I just move a few steps away. I get offended though, if it's near my children, if think that it's a lack of respect for anyone to smoke around children. This is just my personal opinion of course.
I try not to judge smokers, but I have to admit that the smoke really makes me wheeze--so I would move away from the smoker.
I have my own bad habits and I understand that while something is bad for you, even deadly, it is not easy to stop a behavior that gives you relief of stress, or pleasure.
So as long as I can find fresh air, I leave smokers alone.

Would you feel comfortable with a doctor who you knew was a smoker? It wouldn't worry me, but some people I suspect would have less faith in a doctor who they knew had such a dangerous habit/addiction. If you know your doctor already does has it put you off having him as your doctor?

What percentage of hubbers are smokers? The percentage seems quite high, though I am NOT a smoker. Writers are historically known to be smokers, e.g. Mark Twain whom I believe was a heavy smoker.

Is it rude if a nonsmoker asks me to quit smoking?I am a smoker, and I try to be very conscious of other people around me when I light up. I move away from other people and always stay far away from children. But if I am in a smoking permitted area first, is it rude if a non smoker asks...

What are the benefits of smoking cigarettes? As an ex smoker I know of all the negative sides of smoking, (way too many)... which was plenty enough to quit. But are there any positive side effects, if any, that come from smoking?
