How do you like your body after having a baby?

most women seem to want to loose their baby weight too soon after having a baby, why is that?

Without having a baby in their belly and hence a legit reason to gain weight, I think women tend to just feel fat afterwards and want to get their old body back so they can feel better about themselves... plus society and the media (magazines, etc) seem to really push this.  It's like a race, who can lose their baby weight the fastest, it's ridiculous.

I think it's because most women want to be skinny.  I've always been a little on the "extra" side of weight, so gaining the baby weight, and loosing it didn't mean a whole lot to me.  It was cool to loose it all in a matter of a couple of weeks, but that was just because I only gained 20 pounds.

I have 5 children, and I always looked forward to getting back in the gym and back into cute clothes.  However, after 40 weeks of getting bigger and bigger and bigger, giving birth is immediately rewarding in that area.  You all of a sudden don't have a huge belly to waddle around with and that, for me, was always satisfying.  It gave me some major momentum because I'd lost so much weight right away and wanted to keep losing more.  Looking at my deflated midsection in the mirror was always somehow really empowering.
