Are certain kinds of cancer, sexually transmitted?
My mother clams that cancer can be transmitted sexually, such as prostate, ovarian, and tongue cancer. She also claims that it is a hidden fact that doctors and officials do not want society to know.
Am I wrong to think that it cannot be true because of the nature of cancer itself? Or is my mother wrong to think that cancer is a form of punishing sins?
Cancer is not contagious and cannot be contracted sexually. Cervical cancer can however be contributed to bruising.
Your mother is wrong. Cancer is just another disease not a punishment from God.
Read this hub for a better understanding of how cancer is obtained.

I read recently that the same virus that causes cervical cancer can cause throat cancer. Human Papillomavirus, just look it up on WebMD.
The punishing sins part is a way deeper question. I don't think sex is a sin, so I'd say no to her on that one, but that is my personal opinion.
My mother over exaggerates over her religious views. She believes that the jungles are riddled with diseases because of the barbaric ways of the "jungle people" and that we "civilized people" released them by exploring and cutting down the jungles.
She has been part of a "right to life" group, which after meetings comes out with "sexually transmitted disease" is because society does not regard sex by God's rules. And cancer is a fairly "new" disease.
And like all great extremest, my mother will not listen to any solid reasoning.
I was just wondering how much truth there was to this newest claim that she "learn" at her Right to Life.
Do not peg me wrong. I do not believe in abortion any more than she does. I just do not believe in all this other crap they seem to bring to the table.
Sex itself cannot cause cancer, no. However, having sex at a young age or with multiple partners will put you at risk for cervical cancer where otherwise it would not be a cancer you could get. Women who have not had multiple partners or partners with multiple partners or who waited until they were well into adulthood to have sex are not likely to get that type of cancer.
Okay. There is a skin cancer called karposi's sarcoma which is found in AIDS victims. AIDS is a STD.
chlamydia is sexually transmitted and can also lead to cancer.
Many STDS, have complications which may lead to cancer.
There is a lot of good people in this world who have bad things happen to them.
None of us are perfect, we all sin. God does not strike us down with cancer, etc to punish us. If he did, he would not be a loving God, would he.
