How to help my friend? He is being used.
Came across my old friend that I haven't seen for months. He is very depressed and plans to buy a gun. He is being used by an addict who won't leave his apartment but is not willing to call the police to get him out.
I told my friend he has to get rid of the addict.
What should I do? Keep on my buddy to get rid of this fiendish addict and start a fight?
Or should I say nothing and get my pal off for a few days hiking in a national park to get rid of this bad influence so he can get his head clear?
I have learned that we cannot want more good for friends and family they want for themselves. You can lead but the rest is up to your friend. I hope he/she is able to open the door that only HE/SHE has the key to...the rest is guidance from a distance...
Best of luck
I think starting with the few days away is a great idea. If the addict at his place is affecting him that badly he obviously needs a break and maybe you can help him see that he has to do something about it.
Sounds like you're a good friend.
