All of these exercise's will work your abdominal area, along with a good nutritional plan. A person can exercise as hard as they like. Without proper nutrition, the results will be very poor, just my input.
I used to have big problems with fat, but am getting in better shape now. Here's a good site I found that really helped. It gave me great workouts and diet tips and showed me what I was doing wrong before...there's even lots of free articles on the site..

I had a weak core, just not much strength in it and pilates worked for me really well. Made my feet grow a bit though!
My top choices would be (in this order:)
-Planks; including side elbow and extended arm planks, walking hands out in front planks, and elephant walks.
-Ab wheel rolling. This thing is a killer.
-Straight leg lifts and sit-ups (feet anchored.)

Everybody is concerned about how much exercise do we need! But researchers are busy to find out how little exercise do we need. Quick workouts are going to be the new standard and are quite effective. Can brief bursts...
