All of these exercise's will work your abdominal area, along with a good nutritional plan. A person can exercise as hard as they like. Without proper nutrition, the results will be very poor, just my input.
I used to have big problems with fat, but am getting in better shape now. Here's a good site I found that really helped. It gave me great workouts and diet tips and showed me what I was doing wrong before...there's even lots of free articles on the site..

I had a weak core, just not much strength in it and pilates worked for me really well. Made my feet grow a bit though!
My top choices would be (in this order:)
-Planks; including side elbow and extended arm planks, walking hands out in front planks, and elephant walks.
-Ab wheel rolling. This thing is a killer.
-Straight leg lifts and sit-ups (feet anchored.)
