What Can be the Potential Adverse Effects of Internet Addiction?
Because I have known a couple of people with internet addiction , the adverse effects can fall into a wide range of things. A lot of it depends on the nature of the addiction such as games, gambling, porn or just surfing. Like any addiction it becomes the primary focus of that person's life slowly taking the place of the once important things. These addictions can range from just being a nuisance to the people around the addicted person to completely changing that persons feelings, goals and even appearance. It is something that should not be taken lightly.
Internet addiction like any of the myriad addictions is just another way for people to distract themselves from dealing with thoughts and feelings that they are afraid of. Some addictions are socially acceptable and others are not but that changes from generation to generation. The adverse effects of internet addiction like any other addiction is that the addict relinquishes the opportunity to learn the lessons that life has to teach and regain their freedom.
The internet can take over some people's lives to were they forget to communicate with the people around them or not even learn to be sociable. Particularly these days so many are spend so much of there lives on smart phone, iPhone etch which are so mobile.
These are great if used in moderation, but unfortunate for many there whole lives are around the internet.
You could leave your kids in the bath to drown while you check your email as seen on the news.
