    What are the costs and benefits of running in your second trimester of pregnancy?

    I'm curious about what the research says, as well as other people's experiences.  I am hoping to run/walk a half-marathon while almost 6 months pregnant, but I don't have a good understanding of what the actual costs/risks are, as well as what the benefits are.

    Your center of balance is different now, so the risk of falling is much greater.  Walking and staying in shape definitively helps with labor.

    Staying active is great during pregnancy! Not only will it help with labor, but you will have more energy and just feel better overall. I did not run, but I walked 4 miles a day and lifted weights (the same as pre-pregnancy). I don't think I could've run from 6 months on. The belly just gets heavy and starts to get uncomfortable. But, it may just depend on how you carry.
