Has anyone tried hypnosis cds (anxiety, relaxation etc) Have they worked for you?
Please don't answer to just dismiss the question e.g hypnosis is nonsense
Only answer the question if you have tried a hypnosis CD before.
I have, but it didn't come close to working as well as the combination of hatha yoga (to relax my body) and meditation. Even hatha yoga by itself works better for me than hypnosis. And some say that meditation is a form of self-hypnosis anyway. For me, it goes much further than that.
When I was first starting out, hatha yoga put me to sleep on the floor, it was that relaxing. Note that I do not take classes. There's a book by Richard Hittleman that teaches you how to do it at home.

Doing yoga at home means you can really focus and take it at your own speed. You end up with three complete routines. I've used that book for thirty years and been very happy with it.
Hello Websiteconfetti, its really nice to meet you. I am a psychologist and I have listened to hypnosis cds and mp3 myself. I have also recommended it to my patients who are suffering from depression, anxiety, smoking problems, drinking problems and even attention problems.
It works for everyone, only some people are more influenced by the healing power of subliminal suggestions. If you have any interest in the hypnosis cds for anxiety and related conditions, I recommend Self hypnosis cds and mp3s of my mentor, Dr. Jane Maati Smith.
I hope it helps. I look forward to hear about your experience too!
