Would you allow your 15 year old to take prescription weight loss medication?
No. You can lose weight naturally. It is a far more healthier way to lose the weight. Exercise is key. All weight loss aids are basically SPEED no matter what a pharmaceutical company tells you.
No, I don't believe it would be healthy since a 15 year old's body is still developing.
Definitely not! There are much healthier ways to lose weight and teens are still developing, try exercise and modify the diet.
If the prescription is under the direction of a good doctor yes, but I would also like to see more input from the doctor other than just prescribing pills - such as healthy eating, exercise, counselling etc. I would also like to see my 15 year old have time with a dietician as well as the doctor to monitor progress - if all this was in place, then I would be ok with it, especially if this was going to make not only a huge difference to my 15 year old's health but future life.
