Do you expect that good things will happen for you?
I want to be optimistic, and I usually am. I do find, however, that when I am over worked and stressed that I am living my life with the expectation that it will all getter better and easier. I wonder if this is a sub-conscious mental trick that keeps me in the race.
I've always been an optimist, and I always expect that the future will be better and brighter. That's a good thing to believe! Stay in the race...things will get better!
Stephanie thank you for affirming my optimism. On a dreary morning like this it's nice to know that I am not alone in my beliefs. Sometimes life challenges really test my sense of karma. At those moments I almost feel foolish for expecting the good.
I do, sometimes. Mostly. But then a wiser side knows that 'good things' are gifts not 'a given'. There is a huge world out there that doesn't have a leg to stand on, who are grateful for the smallest mercies and who probably have a greater sense of the miracle of being alive (and those good things) than those of us in more privileged worlds.
That said, it's truly lovely to expect good things will happen for you/us and a nicer disposition than any other. Bless. Hold on to it. I believe that God loves the bright of heart, the generous of spirit, the kind and the tolerant.
Thank you GoodLady! You are providing the prospective that is needed when times are bleak. All experience is relative, and my struggle may be another persons privilege. I am fortunate that I only deal with general annoyances and struggle. Thank You!
I am an optimist and I think that expecting that good things will happen is a good way to think! I think we all have days when it may not come as easy. You have posted this question at a good time, because I needed a reminder today to look on the bright side of things. On days when we encounter not-so-positive forces, my remedy is to replace the negative thought or experience with a positive one.
Regards and Happiness to you. :-)
I also felt that I needed some energy redirected towards positive influences. All the comments from our fellow hubbers has had a very positive effect on me. Cheers to you all. And thank you!
Every day. Yes. I do . Good things happen every day ...I just need to be watchful and expectant of those things. Stress creeps in some days but i don't let that steal my day. There was a time when I could not, would not have said that. But my mantra is: do not miss today. Find the joy
I love your mantra! The stresses of the day do seem to steal the joys we can experience in the moment. Here's to Carpe Diem!
Life is all a matter of expectations wherein we love to expect on each and every step and wanna dream all good .But as it is well said that life is never a bed of roses and thus we will have to face all whether Good....or Bad. However I feel that Expectation is a fuel that keeps the engine of life run smoothly because the day we leave expecting life and its difficulties will be next to impossible to be handled. Nothing is Impossible and ..yes it is said that IMPOSSIBLE means I M Possible thus may be expecting good will bring good for you..
I sure hope that expecting good will bring good. Maybe all the good will and expectation surrounding this question will help us all.
One day I realized that it's the journey that is important, not the destination. And yes, I do expect that good things will happen for me; the difference is that I've learned that good things aren't always dramatic. It's the difference in being offered a writing contract with a huge monetary payoff and getting a nice compliment from another Hub Pages writer. I've finally begun to value what are perceived as the "little things." It makes the journey worthwhile.
I like the question. I will take time for meditation and be sure to go outdoors now. Thanks!
Thank you Marsei. Your answer is one of those "little" good things, but nonetheless impactful.
Expecting something good to happen quite often promotes it. Work on it.
No, I work hard to make them happen. I never expect anything.
Hard work has to be part of the equation!
