    Does singing lift your spirits?

Research indicates that singing improves both physical and mental health and is particularly good for depression.  So, do you sing?  And if you so, does it lift your mood?

I do sing! When I sing if I am in the right mindset and not overthinking about how I sound, then it most certainly does lift my spirits. I feel much more in touch with myself and I literally get a powerfully good feeling within.

Me too!  I often sing while doing mindless chores, gardening etc.  I don't really care if it sounds great or not as I'm singing just for the joy of it!

Hmm, I don't think I've heard myself sing in years. And -- coincidence? -- I'm depressed! Maybe I should start singing? ;-)

I love to sing, especially in my car, alone where I can imagine I sound wonderful.  And yes, it does lift my spirits.

Yes. I always try to sing as much as possible. Then I start to dance, feel better, more comfortable, happier, and enjoy the little things more.

Me too!  Even if I'm feeling a little melancholy and choose a sad song to sing, it always makes me feel a little better.  Oh, and there's nothing like a fast song for dancing across the kitchen floor!

While making dinner! That's my favorite. Dancing, smelling the spices, singing to the radio, and a hot cup of tea really make my night smile

Yes, it sure does, but like others here, I only do it in the car or sing to the cats during the week. They don't complain! At least not to me... I better watch next time to see if they are giving each other conspiratorial looks... hmmm... maybe those meows back and forth mean "I wish she'd quit that awful racket, don't you?" Ha!!
