Should a woman that consistently has drug addicted babies be forced to become sterile?

either that or she should be put in prison for life. to me, anyone who keeps having kids that are addicts because of their behavior is as much of a criminal as a drug dealer is.

She currently is in prison, I was speaking about a sister of mine, however she will be out in March 2013.  And want's another baby! Our mother is raising 2 of her drug born babies, and 2 are in adoption process. Thank you for your answer.

that sucks. sorry to hear it's your sister. someone needs to get her to think before she acts, big time. ask her if she hates kids because that might make her think before getting pregnant again.

    Yes.
I agree completely.  Because she is not conducting herself in the interests of her children.  By her using drugs while being pregnant is endangering the welfare of her child.  Therefore, I feel she is guilty of child endangerment.  Not to mention, she's obviously not providing a good foundation for the child to start out with.

I'm sorry to hear that you are referring to a sister of yours, it must be extremely hard to deal with.  Hopefully, she will come around. As we get older, we tend to become wiser.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement.  I heard some where that New York has a law that if you birth 4 babies addicted to drugs, & become  pregnant again they put you in prison for the entire pregnancy. Wish this applied in all States.
