If you could eliminate only one cause of death on earth, what would it be?
Probably ALS or Lou Gehrigs disease...because it's such a slow, painfully agonizing and horrific death...You often get to where you can't talk or swallow or move or take care of yourself in any way...it's just about the saddest in my opinion...
Death due to premature birth. I know cancer is terrible, I'm fighting it myself for the third time. And I have lost people I love to many other things, but I promise you that nothing has been more heart-wrenching than watching a parent lose their innocent tiny baby.
I would eliminate cancer as it is an equal opportunity killer: it takes men, women, children, babies, even animals. It is heartbreaking and insidious. And like lindalou, I have lost many to cancer.
Violent death - particularly from hate crimes.
Being killed because you are the wrong...colour, sex, sexual orientation, ability/disability, eye colour, hair colour, religion, non-religion is awful.
I agree with the prem babies, cancer, etc - medical advances are making these deaths less and less likely. Hate crime on the other hand - increasing.
I'd eliminate Nobel Peace Prize winners from being able to order military or drone planes into use.
