Are behavior health centers %100 right about children?
Behavior health centers and counselors are calling my son ADHD, and only seen him once. Are they trying to make money off clients? My son is 1 and 16 months and has been very active
I hate to second-guess another mental health professional but I cannot imagine diagnosing a 1yr-16mos old with anything. I also cannot imagine that they did a complete evaluation in one visit. Did they use a Bayley Scale? It measures infant development. I can only recommend a second opinion for such a young child.
to make the long story short
the process i went through was to seek out a rehabilitation center because i had concerns.
and so they done a few activities with him and evaluated that it was something wrong but did not know what so they referred me to the behavior health center 3 weeks after that time, and found out just in one day that he has ADHD. So i have not gone back and hope i made the right decision.
A diagnosis is a mere opinion, an educated guess at best. Don't let anyone label your child. You're right to trust your instincts and remove him from the centre. At such a young age, his potential is limitless. If you are concerned about his behaviour, get a second or even a third opinion. Meanwhile, make sure his diet is as healthy as possible. Medical doctor Dr Joel Furhman, in his book "Disease-Proof Your Child: Feeding Kids Right", recommends nutritional excellence as an immune booster and insurance against disease in childhood and beyond. Minimize your little boy's exposure to toxic products and above all, delay and space out his vaccines as much as possible.

Im curious, I think that some doctors will lie for profit. For example, you have an ear problem, you go to your ear doctor, he checks you out and says that you have something wrong with your ear and you need surgery,...
