What is behind gaining weight but not inches?
I know that water weight can have an influence on gaining weight that fluctuates, but what about weight that sticks - like 5 to 10 pounds? How can you gain that kind of weight but not gain any inches of fat on your body? Do you think it is better to track inches or weight?
You can gain 5 to 10 pounds of muscle without seeing an increase in your waist size. In my last cutting cycle I stayed the same weight but lost 1/2 an inch from my waist and dropped 2% body fat. So I gained about 5 pounds of muscle and actually stayed the same weight and lost inches to my waist. Also, I think it varies on whether you should be tracking inches or weight. If you're overweight there is no reason to track inches. But if you're around your proper weight and you just want to monitor your body fat while you gain lean muscle, like me right now, then you should also track inches. That's my opinion though.
If you are weight lifting, you could be gaining muscle. I would track scale weight, inches, and also take pictures for comparison.

Healthy ideas for gaining 7 to 10 lbs?Recently, due to a new job I have lost more weight than I wanted. Other than gaining muscle, does anyone have any idea how to gain 7 to 10 lbs. I would just consume more than I'm burning, but I have no idea how much I am burning.
